Jan Goad first came to the Blandford practice in 2004 when she & Robert Frith went into partnership and took over the practice from Mike & Janet Jones. She came to the practice with over 25 years experience in the profession as a dispensing optician. Training has always been an important part of her work, formerly as a tutor for the Association of British Dispensing Opticians and as a training manager for a large company, all of which has helped equip her to succeed in a long held ambition to run her own business.

The practice has gone from strength to strength and has recently undergone a full refurbishment of the reception and dispensing areas, creating a light airy atmosphere, ideal for displaying our wide range of frames to optimum effect.

Jan’s formula for success sounds simple “Always try to be the best. First and foremost never forget we are dealing with peoples eyes, having an eye examination and new spectacles or contact lenses is a time when some people feel very vulnerable. Being totally professional, efficient but at the same time friendly and approachable is the key.”

To keep our stock fresh & vibrant we keep it changing all the time which is why so many patients travel from out of town to see us.”
